Target Information
This gene encodes a protein identified in metastatic cell lines, particularly mammary adenocarcinoma cells. Expression correlates with metastatic potential in several carcinomas and is also found in normal tissues. Initially thought to be a component of the NuRD complex, it is now considered a similar but distinct protein. It contains DNA binding, dimerization, and methylation-related domains, suggesting a role in transcription regulation via chromatin remodeling.
