Target Information
BRSK1 (SAD1)은 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로, UV에 의해 유도되는 DNA 손상 체크포인트 키나아제입니다. 주로 뇌와 고환에서 높은 발현을 보이며, 스트레스 유발 세포주기 정지에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
BRSK1 과발현 시 HeLa S2 세포에서 G2/M 정지가 유도되며, siRNA로 BRSK1 발현을 감소시키면 UV 유도 G2/M 정지가 부분적으로 억제되어 DNA 손상 체크포인트 기능에 역할을 함을 시사합니다.
또한 BRSK1과 관련 단백질 BRSK2는 신경세포 극성화에 필수적입니다. 두 단백질 모두 결손된 마우스는 출생 후 2시간 내 사망하였으며, 이들의 뉴런은 정상적인 축삭과 수상돌기 구분 없이 균일한 신경돌기를 형성하였습니다.
BRSK1의 최소 두 가지 isoform이 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
