INHBB Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of INHBB protein.
Target Information
The inhibin beta B subunit joins the alpha subunit to form a pituitary FSH secretion inhibitor. Inhibin negatively regulates gonadal stromal cell proliferation and exhibits tumor-suppressor activity. Serum inhibin levels correlate with granulosa-cell tumor size, making it a potential marker for primary and recurrent disease. Expression varies among gonadal and extragonadal tissues, suggesting roles as both a growth/differentiation factor and hormone. The beta B subunit also forms activin B (homodimer) and activin AB (heterodimer), which stimulate FSH secretion.
