Target Information
Ribosomes, the organelles responsible for protein synthesis, consist of a small (40S) and a large (60S) subunit containing over 80 ribosomal proteins. Mammalian ribosomal proteins are encoded by multigene families that include processed pseudogenes and functional intron-containing genes. RPS4Y2, RPS4Y1, and RPS4X are S4 RNA-binding domain-containing proteins that are components of the 40S ribosomal subunit, suggesting their role in protein synthesis.
