Target Information
Collagen I은 두 개의 alpha-1 chain과 하나의 alpha-2 chain으로 구성된 triple helix 구조의 Type I collagen입니다. 대부분의 결합 조직에서 발견되는 group I collagen(fibril-forming collagen)으로, 뼈, 각막, 진피, 힘줄 등에 풍부하게 존재합니다.
COL1A2 유전자 변이는 osteogenesis imperfecta types I–IV, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type VIIB, recessive Ehlers-Danlos syndrome Classical type, idiopathic osteoporosis, atypical Marfan syndrome과 관련되어 있습니다. COL1A2 변이는 COL1A1 변이보다 증상이 덜 심각한 경향을 보이며, 이는 matrix integrity에서 alpha-2 chain의 역할 차이에 기인합니다.
또한, 염색체 17과 22 간의 상호 전좌는 Collagen Type I 유전자와 platelet-derived growth factor beta 유전자가 위치한 영역에서 발생하며, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans라는 피부 종양과 연관되어 있습니다. 두 개의 전사체(transcript)는 대체 polyadenylation 신호 사용으로부터 생성됩니다.
