ATG14 (Autophagy related protein homolog 14)은 인간 14번 염색체에 위치한 ATG14 유전자로부터 발현되는 단백질입니다. ATG14L 또는 BARKOR(Beclin 1-associated autophagy-related key regulator)로도 알려져 있습니다.
자가포식(autophagy)은 세포 내 단백질 및 손상된 소기관을 재활용하는 과정으로, 영양 스트레스에 대한 세포 반응으로 유도됩니다. Class III PI3-Kinase(Vps34)와 Beclin 1 복합체는 ATG14(type 1) 또는 UVRAG(type 2)를 포함하며, ATG14는 preautophagosomal structure(PAS)로 복합체를 유도하여 자가포식소체 형성을 개시하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
