Product Specific Information

  • Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water.
  • Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
  • Specificity: Olfactory receptor OR4N2.

Target Information

Olfactory receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of smell. These receptors belong to the large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) derived from single coding-exon genes. They share a 7-transmembrane domain structure common to many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors and are responsible for odorant recognition and G protein-mediated signal transduction. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the genome. The nomenclature for olfactory receptor genes and proteins is species-specific.
