Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The human FXYD2 (pronounced fix-id) gene maps to chromosome 11q23 and encodes the gamma subunit of Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase (NKA). The FXYD2 gamma subunit modulates NKA activity by inducing ion channel activity.
The mammalian FXYD family maintains sodium and potassium gradients between intracellular and extracellular environments, playing roles in renal Na⁺ reabsorption, muscle contraction, and neuronal excitability.
FXYDs are single-span membrane proteins sharing a 35-amino-acid signature domain beginning with the sequence PFXYD, containing 7 invariant and 6 conserved amino acids.
