Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882) before use.

Target Information

SETD2 is a histone methyltransferase that specifically trimethylates Lys-36 of histone H3 (H3K36me3) using dimethylated Lys-36 (H3K36me2) as substrate. It is the main enzyme generating H3K36me3, a marker for epigenetic transcriptional activation.
SETD2 plays roles in:

  • Chromatin structure modulation during transcriptional elongation
  • DNA mismatch repair in G1 and early S phase via recruitment of the MutS alpha complex
  • Maintenance of heterochromatin through DNMT3A recruitment
  • Coupling of splicing and transcription elongation
  • Angiogenesis regulation
  • Recruitment to adenovirus 12 E1A gene promoters during infection
