Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ZEB1.
Target Information
ZEB1 (Zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1) acts as a transcriptional repressor. It inhibits interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene expression and modulates promoter activity of ATP1A1 depending on cell type and cDNA quantity. ZEB1 represses E-cadherin promoters and induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) by recruiting SMARCA4/BRG1. It also represses BCL6 transcription with CTBP1, positively regulates neuronal differentiation, and represses RCOR1 activation during neurogenesis. Mutations in ZEB1 can cause corneal dystrophy, posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy, and Fuchs endothelial dystrophy.
