Product Specific Information
- This antibody reacts with all four isoforms of IRAK2a.
- In Western blot applications, it detects a band at ~65 kDa.
- Suggested positive control: RAW264.7 cell lysate.
- Can be used with blocking peptide PEP-0280.
Target Information
IRAK2 (interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase-like 2) binds to the IL-1 type I receptor following IL-1 engagement and triggers intracellular signaling cascades leading to transcriptional up-regulation and mRNA stabilization.
IL-1 induces cellular response through two receptor subunits: IL-1 receptor I (IL-1RI) and IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAcP).
IRAK family members mediate activation of NF-kappa-B, a key transcription factor in inflammatory and immune responses.
IRAK2, a novel member of the IRAK/Pelle family, associates with IL-1R and TLR complexes and plays a central role in cytokine IL-1 and LPS-induced signaling.
IRAK2 is expressed in various human tissues.
