Target Information
The VAV3 gene belongs to the VAV gene family. VAV proteins are guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases, activating pathways that lead to actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional changes.
This gene product acts as a GEF mainly for RhoG, RhoA, and to a lesser extent RAC1, associating with the nucleotide-free forms of these GTPases.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
