For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation applications, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate, committing glucose to the glycolytic pathway.
Alternative splicing of the GCK gene results in three tissue-specific forms of glucokinase: one in pancreatic islet beta cells and two in liver.
The protein localizes to the outer mitochondrial membrane and remains active while glucose is abundant, unlike other hexokinases inhibited by glucose-6-phosphate.
Mutations in this gene are associated with non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), maturity onset diabetes of the young type 2 (MODY2), and persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy (PHHI).
