PA1-28838 detects Gli2 from mouse samples.


Target Information

Gli-2 belongs to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein subclass of the Gli family. Members of this subclass function as transcription factors that bind DNA through zinc finger motifs containing conserved H-C links. Gli family zinc finger proteins mediate Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling and act as potent oncogenes in embryonal carcinoma cells. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm and activates patched Drosophila homolog (PTCH) gene expression. It is also involved in embryogenesis and associated with several phenotypes, including Greig cephalopolysyndactyly syndrome, Pallister-Hall syndrome, preaxial polydactyly type IV, and postaxial polydactyly types A1 and B.
