C1orf186 (also known as RHEX, Regulator Of Hemoglobinization And Erythroid Cell Expansion) is a protein-coding gene involved in erythropoietin-mediated signaling and positive regulation of erythrocyte differentiation. It is located in the plasma membrane and acts as a signal transduction factor of the EPO-EPOR signaling pathway, promoting erythroid cell differentiation. Diseases associated with RHEX include Gallbladder Benign Neoplasm and Gallbladder Adenoma.
