Target Information
DNA는 히스톤 및 기타 핵 단백질과 밀접하게 결합하여 크로마틴을 형성합니다. 크로마틴 리모델링은 전사 조절의 핵심 요소이며, 히스톤의 아세틸화는 이러한 리모델링의 주요 기전입니다. 여러 포유류 단백질(GCN5, PCAF, p300/CBP, HAT1, TAF II p250 등)이 히스톤 아세틸화 효소로 작용하며, 반대로 히스톤 탈아세틸화 효소(HDAC)는 전사 억제와 관련됩니다. HDAC9과 HDAC9a는 HDAC9 유전자의 두 가지 스플라이싱 변이체로, 모두 탈아세틸화 활성을 유지하며 myocyte enhancer-binding factor 2 매개 전사를 억제합니다. 두 isoform은 뇌, 골격근, 신장, 태반, 췌장에서 발현됩니다.
