Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Thymosin beta 10 and Thymosin beta 16 is observed.
- Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.2 mg/mL.
Target Information
Thymosin-beta4 is a small, actin-sequestering protein of the thymosin-beta family, found at high concentrations in spleen, thymus, and macrophages. It organizes cytoskeletal structure by forming a 1:1 complex with G-actin, inhibiting polymerization into F-actin.
This protein is present in various tissues including brain, lung, liver, kidney, testes, and heart, and is expressed by myoblasts, fibroblasts, and certain hemopoietic and malignant lymphoid cells.
Beyond actin regulation, thymosin-beta4 influences hormone secretion, macrophage migration, T cell phenotypic changes, and hematopoietic stem cell progression.
