Translin 폴리펩타이드는 DNA 결합 활성에 필요한 다중체 구조를 형성합니다. 재조합 관련 모티프와 translin 결합 부위는 재조합 hotspot에 존재하며, 전좌로 융합되는 유전자의 절단점을 나타내는 지표로 작용할 수 있습니다. 이러한 결합 활성은 림프종 등에서 염색체 전좌에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있습니다. 최근 연구에 따르면, 결합 파트너 Trax와 함께 Translin은 RNA에 결합하여 뉴런 내 수송을 매개하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
