Rab 41 (Ras-related protein Rab-41)은 222 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질로, small GTPase superfamily 및 Rab family에 속합니다.
Rab 단백질은 막 수송(membrane trafficking)의 조절자로 작용하며, GDP 결합 비활성 상태와 GTP 결합 활성 상태 사이를 순환합니다.
이 과정은 GTP hydrolysis-activating proteins (GAPs)에 의해 조절되며, Rab 41은 GAP 단백질 RN-Tre에 의해 활성화됩니다.
Rab 41은 골지 복합체(Golgi complex)에 위치하며 단백질 수송 및 GTP 결합에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 두 가지 alternative splicing isoform으로 존재하며, 인간 염색체 Xq13.1에 위치한 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다.
