Target Information
The nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) transcription complex regulates the expression of proteins involved in immune response.
There are four NFAT proteins encoded by separate genes—NFAT1 (NFATp/NFATc2), NFAT2 (NFATc/NFATc1), NFAT3, and NFAT4 (NFATx/NFATc3)—which share limited sequence similarity with the Dorsal/Rel/NFkB family.
NFAT5 differs from isoforms 1–4 by lacking many Fos/Jun contact sites and its localization is not calcineurin-dependent.
