Target Information
ERP44 mediates thiol-dependent retention in the early secretory pathway by forming mixed disulfides with substrate proteins through its conserved CRFS motif. It inhibits the calcium channel activity of ITPR1 and may play a role in oxidative protein folding within the endoplasmic reticulum. ERP44 is also required for retaining ERO1L and ERO1LB in the endoplasmic reticulum.
