Target Information

TCEB1, also known as protein elongin C, is a subunit of the transcription factor B (SIII) complex composed of elongins A/A2, B, and C.
This complex activates elongation by RNA polymerase II by suppressing transient pausing within transcription units.
Elongin A functions as the active component, while elongins B and C serve as regulatory subunits.
Elongin A2 is specifically expressed in the testis and forms a stable complex with elongins B and C.
The von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor protein binds to elongins B and C, inhibiting transcription elongation.
Western blots using two different antibodies against distinct regions of this target confirm consistent molecular weight results.
