Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway and consists of stacked cisternae. Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are important for its reorganization during mitosis.
The GOLGA4 gene encodes one of the golgins, a family of proteins localized to the Golgi, and is involved in Rab6-regulated membrane-tethering events. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
