Target Information
Chemokines are key mediators of inflammation and play crucial roles in recruiting effector immune cells to infection sites. They activate leukocytes through G protein–coupled receptors, classified mainly as CXCR and CCR families.
CCR1, a member of the CCR receptor group, is expressed on neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, and eosinophils. It binds macrophage-inflammatory protein (MIP-1), eotaxin, and other related chemokines.
Mice lacking CCR1 show impaired neutrophil trafficking and proliferation.
