Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF)는 중추 및 말초 신경세포의 생존에 필수적인 강력한 생존 인자로, 신장과 장 신경계 발달에 중요합니다. GDNF의 생리학적 작용에는 GDNFRα(GFRα-1)라는 세포막 표면 수용체가 필요하며, 이는 GDNF에 특이적으로 결합하여 Ret 단백질 티로신 키나아제(PTK)를 활성화합니다. GDNF, GFRα, Ret PTK는 복합체를 형성하여 GDNF 신호 전달 및 기능을 매개합니다.
