Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of BCLAF1 only when phosphorylated at Ser531.
Target Information
BCLAF1 (BCL2-associated transcription factor 1) is an intracellular, death-promoting transcriptional repressor that interacts with multiple members of the BCL2 family. It contains basic leucine zipper (bZIP) and MYB DNA-binding domains. In apoptotic cells, BCLAF1 localizes to dot-like structures throughout the nucleus and redistributes near the nuclear envelope. Overexpression induces apoptosis, which can be inhibited by co-expression of BCL2 proteins. Also known as BTF, it triggers a pro-apoptotic signal and is mainly expressed in skeletal muscle.
