Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-Lactate Dehydrogenase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum via delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Immunoelectrophoresis showed a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum and purified Lactate Dehydrogenase (Rabbit Muscle).
BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with muscle and heart isoforms (LDH-A and LDH-B) from most mammalian species.
Target Information
Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to lactate with interconversion of NADH and NAD+.
In mammals, LDH is encoded by three genes: LDHA (muscle form), LDHB (heart form), and LDHC (testis form).
Human LDHs share 84–89% sequence similarity and 69–75% amino acid identity.
There are five LDH isoenzymes depending on the M/H chain composition in the tetrameric structure.
LDHA expression is hypoxia-inducible and regulated by HIF1α activity.
LDHB is upregulated in various cancers.
Mutations in LDHA can cause Glycogen Storage Disease 11 (GSD11).
