Apolipoprotein A4 (ApoA-IV)는 프로테올리틱 처리 후 O-linked glycoprotein 형태의 혈장 단백질입니다. ApoA4는 HDL의 주요 구성 요소이며, 새로 합성된 chylomicron 표면에서도 발견됩니다. 아직 생리적 기능이 완전히 규명되지는 않았지만, 여러 in vitro 연구에서 ApoA4가 말초 세포의 콜레스테롤을 간으로 되돌리는 역콜레스테롤 수송 경로의 여러 단계에 관여함을 시사합니다.
