이 유전자의 돌연변이는 Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A2 및 hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy VI를 유발하며, 이는 말초신경계 질환입니다. 또한 이 유전자의 결함은 조기 발병 뇌졸중과도 관련이 있습니다. 두 가지 전사 변형체가 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 것으로 확인되었습니다.
