The monoclonal antibody 20A5 recognizes human ADAMTS-13, a disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin type 1 domain 13.
Target Information
ADAMTS13 belongs to the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif) protein family. Members share several distinct modules, including a propeptide region, metalloproteinase domain, disintegrin-like domain, and thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif. They differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs and may have unique C-terminal domains.
ADAMTS13 functions as the von Willebrand Factor (vWF)-cleaving protease, responsible for cleavage at Tyr842-Met843 of vWF. Deficiency of this enzyme is associated with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
