Target Information
Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), also known as Fetuin A, is a serum glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes. It consists of two polypeptide chains cleaved from a single mRNA-encoded proprotein. AHSG is involved in various biological processes including endocytosis, brain development, and bone tissue formation. It is commonly found in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and bone marrow hemopoietic matrix, suggesting a role in tissue development. However, its precise biological significance remains unclear.
