Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human SULT1B1, SULT1A1, SULT2A1, SULT4A1, and SULT1E1 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Cytosolic sulfotransferases (STs or SULTs) catalyze the sulfate conjugation of various drugs, xenobiotic compounds, hormones, and neurotransmitters.
Her et al. (1998) identified an EST with homology to ST enzymes. By PCR with human placental and prostate cDNA as template, they isolated two alternatively spliced cDNAs—SULT2B1a (350 amino acids) and SULT2B1b (365 amino acids). The gene encoding both cDNAs, SULT2B1, contains seven exons, with two alternative first exons used to generate the two isoforms. Northern blot analysis showed predominant expression in prostate, placenta, and trachea.
