Target Information
TWA1 was identified through a two-hybrid associated protein screen with RanBPM. It is well conserved through evolution and localized within the nucleus. TWA1 interacts with RanBP9 and forms a complex with RanBPM and Muskelin. It possesses the LisH-CTLH motif found in proteins involved in microtubule dynamics, cell migration, nucleokinesis, and chromosome segregation. These functions overlap with those suggested for the RanGTPase cycle. Recent findings indicate a potential additional role in the RanGTPase cycle.
