Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues. CD45 glycoprotein is essential for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. CD45RA, a specific isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. CD45 plays a key role in T- and B-cell receptor signaling, cytokine receptor regulation via JAK kinases, and integrin-mediated signal transduction, influencing apoptosis and immune responses.
