Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation of the ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays roles in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and in adults (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Aberrant MET signaling is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
