UVRAG은 coiled-coil 구조를 가지며, PEST 도메인의 존재로 인해 대사적으로 불안정할 것으로 예측됩니다. Beclin 1과 상호작용하여 자가포식을 활성화하고, 인간 대장암 세포의 종양형성을 억제합니다. UVRAG 유전자는 인간 염색체 11q13.5에 위치하며, xeroderma pigmentosum group C 세포의 자외선 민감성을 보완합니다. 이 유전자는 진화적으로 잘 보존되어 있으며, 세포 대사에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 염색체 이상은 좌우축 형성 이상과 관련이 있으며, 돌연변이는 대장암과 연관되어 있습니다. UVRAG 단백질은 인간의 뇌, 폐, 신장 및 간에서 높게 발현됩니다.
