Target Information

The IL12RB1 protein is a type I transmembrane receptor belonging to the hemopoietin receptor superfamily.
It binds interleukin-12 with low affinity and forms part of the IL12 receptor complex.
This protein forms disulfide-linked oligomers necessary for IL12 binding.
Coexpression with IL12RB2 enables high-affinity IL12 binding and signaling.
Deficiency of IL12RB1 causes immunodeficiency associated with severe mycobacterial and Salmonella infections.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
