Product Specific Information

The PC61.5 antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα).
CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineage cells and by activated mature T and B lymphocytes.
By itself, CD25 binds IL-2 with low affinity, but associates with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain) to form the high-affinity IL-2 receptor.
Binding of IL-2 to both high and low affinity IL-2 receptor classes is inhibited by the PC61.5 antibody.
CD25 plays a role in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Optimize antibody titration for best performance.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain, part of a heterotrimeric complex with IL2RB and IL2RG.
This receptor mediates IL-2 signaling involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation.
IL-2 functions as a growth factor, differentiation factor, and regulator of apoptosis.
IL-2 also stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Mutations in IL2RA can lead to immune dysregulation and colitis-like disease in mice.
