Target Information
Desmoglein 3 (Dsg3), also known as Cadherin family member 6 (CDHF6), is part of the desmosomal cadherin family and is essential for cell-cell adhesion. It is predominantly expressed in stratified squamous epithelium such as skin, oral mucosa, and esophagus. Dsg3 is the autoantigen of pemphigus vulgaris (PV), an autoimmune disease that disrupts cell adhesion, leading to blister formation and suprabasilar acantholysis.
