AGTR1 (Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor)는 강력한 혈관수축 호르몬인 Angiotensin II의 주요 수용체로, 알도스테론 분비를 조절하고 심혈관계에서 혈압과 혈액량을 조절하는 중요한 인자입니다. 이 유전자는 Angiotensin II의 주요 심혈관 작용을 매개하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 허혈 또는 심근경색 후 혈류 회복 시 발생하는 재관류 부정맥의 생성에도 관여할 수 있습니다. 이전에는 AGTR1B라는 관련 유전자가 존재한다고 여겨졌으나, 현재는 인간에서 단일한 type 1 receptor 유전자만 존재하는 것으로 확인되었습니다. 또한, 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이가 보고되었습니다.
