Target Information
Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) is a peptide hormone in the same family as VIP (vasoactive intestinal polypeptide) and PACAP (pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide).
It is secreted by the hypothalamus and binds to G-protein coupled receptors to stimulate secretion and synthesis of growth hormone (GH).
GHRH receptor proteins are expressed on plasma membranes of primary human tumor cells and are thought to contribute to the growth of various cancer types.
