MA1-40130 detects LBP from human samples.
It has been successfully used in ELISA, functional assays, and immunoprecipitation applications.
In ELISA, monoclonal antibody 1C7 can be used both as coating and as detector.
The immunogen is the LPS binding site on LBP.
Endotoxin level: <24 EU/mg.
Target Information
LBP protein is involved in the acute-phase immunologic response to gram-negative bacterial infections.
Gram-negative bacteria contain lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on their outer cell wall. Together with bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (BPI), LBP binds LPS and interacts with the CD14 receptor, likely regulating LPS-dependent monocyte responses.
LBP belongs to a family of structurally and functionally related proteins, including BPI, CETP, and PLTP.
The LBP gene is located on chromosome 20, immediately downstream of the BPI gene.
