Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein is crucial in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
CD45RA, one isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes. Isoform expression depends on cell type and physiological state, influencing membrane localization and signaling.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, modulates JAK kinase activity, and participates in integrin-mediated survival signaling, apoptosis regulation, and immune function modulation.
