Target Information
The DKK2 gene encodes a secreted protein belonging to the dickkopf family. It contains two cysteine-rich regions and participates in embryonic development via interactions with the Wnt signaling pathway. Depending on the cellular context and cofactors such as kremen 2, DKK2 can act as either an agonist or antagonist of Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Its activity is modulated by binding to the Wnt co-receptor LDL-receptor related protein 6 (LRP6).
