Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-rabbit serum, purified and partially purified Xanthine Oxidase (Bovine Buttermilk).
Target Information
XDH (Xanthine Dehydrogenase) is a molybdenum-containing hydroxylase involved in the oxidative metabolism of purines. The enzyme functions as a homodimer and can be converted to xanthine oxidase by reversible sulfhydryl oxidation or irreversible proteolytic modification.
Defects in XDH cause xanthinuria, may contribute to adult respiratory distress syndrome, and may potentiate influenza infection through oxygen metabolite-dependent mechanisms.
