Target Information

TNFSF4 (OX40L) is a type II membrane-bound, non-covalently linked homotrimeric protein expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells and activated B-cells, as well as vascular endothelial cells, mast cells, and natural killer cells.
It signals through the TNFRSF4 receptor, primarily expressed on CD4+ T cells and certain activated CD8+ T cells. The TNFRSF4/TNFSF4 interaction provides a costimulatory signal essential for productive communication between antigen-presenting cells and T cells, enhancing proliferation, survival, and expression of cytokines such as RANTES, IL-2, IL-3, and IFN-γ.
This signaling pathway plays a critical role in immunotolerance.
