Target Information
The VNN2 gene encodes a member of the Vanin family of proteins, which share sequence similarity with biotinidase but lack biotinidase activity. These proteins possess pantetheinase activity that may contribute to oxidative-stress response. VNN2 is a GPI-anchored cell surface molecule involved in the transendothelial migration of neutrophils. The gene is located on chromosome 6q23–q24 and has alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
