Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues and involved in metabolic actions of insulin. Akt functions as a key transducer in signaling pathways activated by growth factor receptors that stimulate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). AKT2 is known to be amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
