Product Specific Information

ABS 006-01-02 detects native Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) from human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blotting, Immunohistochemistry, and ELISA procedures.
By Western blot, only unreduced forms of PAPP-A can be detected.
In sandwich ELISA with a polyclonal antibody in coat, ABS 006-01-02 reacts poorly with PAPP-A in third trimester serum.

The epitope of ABS 006-01-02 differs from BTE 004-09-02 and ABS 006-24-02, and is located on the PAPP-A subunit of the heterotetramer.

Note: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85–1.15 mg/mL.

Target Information

Pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A, also known as Insulin-like growth factor binding protein-4 protease, PAPP-A-proMBP complex) is a large heterotetrameric glycoprotein of approximately 500 kDa, first discovered in serum from pregnant women.
The heterotetramer consists of two PAPP-A subunits and two proMBP subunits.
Low maternal serum levels of PAPP-A in first trimester biochemical screening are used as a marker of Down’s syndrome (trisomy 21).
