Target Information
Hepatitis B e-antigen (HBeAg)는 HBV 감염과 관련된 바이러스 단백질입니다. 표면항원과 달리 e-antigen은 바이러스가 혈중에 존재할 때만 검출됩니다. 바이러스가 비활성 상태로 전환되면 e-antigen은 혈중에서 사라집니다.
HBeAg는 감염 전파 가능성(감염성)의 지표로 사용되며, 치료 효과 모니터링에도 활용됩니다. 성공적인 치료는 혈중 HBeAg 제거 및 anti-HBe 항체의 형성을 유도합니다. 일부 HBV 변종은 e-antigen을 생성하지 않으며, 이러한 변종은 중동 및 아시아 지역에서 흔히 발견됩니다. 이 지역에서는 HBeAg 검사가 유용하지 않을 수 있습니다.
